Factory Profile
The DeLorean DMC-12 was manufactured for the American market from 1981 to 1983. It features gull-wing doors and a distinctive composite construction, built around an epoxy-coated steel backbone chassis with a fiberglass underbody structure. The exterior is formed from brushed stainless steel panels, which are non-structural and mounted over the underlying frame. The design came from Giorgetto Giugiaro, and the car became globally iconic through the Back to the Future trilogy and later appearances including Ready Player One.
